January 10 - During the meeting with the Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Abulnaga, it was negotiated to hold the second meeting of the Azerbaijan-Egypt Intergovernmental Joint Commission on September 2005.
Due to the initiative of the Embassy, an article concerning the meeting with Minister of International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Fayza Abulnaga was published in english in “Egyptian Gazette” which informed both Egyptian and foreign businessman about the opportunities in economic sphere of Azerbaijan.
January 17 - At the meeting with the Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister for the European affairs Ashraf Rashid, several bilateral issues were discussed and the political discussions between the Ministries of two countries were reached to be held in Cairo.
January 18 - The anniversary of the “20th of January” was commemorated in Embassy with participation of the journalists who were deeply informed by the Ambassador about the tragedy.
January 19 - 22 - Due to the initiative of Embassy, the information about press conference concerning the tragedy of "January 20" was published in Egyptian newspapers as “Al-Jumhuriyya” and “Al-Ahram”, in Turkish newspaper “Zaman”, in Egyptian “October” as well as in Arabic magazine “Al-Vatan Al-Arabi” that issued in Paris.
February 5 - The discussions in the sphere of oil were held during the meeting with Minister of Oil Samih Fahmi.
February 7 - During the meting with Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Magrabi, the discussions on the famous Azerbaijani resorts and places of tourism were held.
February 8 - During the meeting with Egyptian Deputy Minister of Culture Sherif Shubashi the discussions in this field were held.
February 14 - The cooperation between LAG and Azerbaijan were discussed during the meeting with the Secretary-general of the League of Arab States Amr Mousa.
February 16 - The discussions on cooperation between the Egyptian fond and Azerbaijan were held during meeting with the Secretary General of the Technical Cooperation Fond of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

February 27 - “Al-Jumhuriyya” newspaper published the information of Ambassador F.Bagirov on Azerbaijani-Egyptian relations.
March 3 - “Al-Jumhuriyya” newspaper published the interview of Ambassador F.Bagirov on armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and the refugees and IDP’s problem.
March 6 - The discussions in the sphere of information were held during the meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Information Anas Al-Fiqi. The renovation of the project of Protocol signed in 1994 between two countries was agreed. It was also agreed to broadcast the documentaries about Azerbaijan by the Egyptian channels.
March 9 - The discussions on cooperation between the ruling parties of both countries were held during the meeting with the Chairman of Parliament and the Secretary General of the ruling party in Egypt, Safvat Ash-Sherif.
March 10 - The opportunities on cooperation in future were discussed during the meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Internal Affairs, Habib Al-Adli.
March 14-21 - Azerbaijan took part at the 38th Cairo International Fair for the first time. The seminar titled “The Investment opportunities in Azerbaijan” was also held in the framework of the fair and broadcasted by the Egyptian "II", "III" and “Nile-TV” channels. The information about seminar was published in “Al-Jumhuriyya” and “Al-Vafd” newspapers of Egypt.
March 19 - The Egyptian “October” magazine published the interview of Ambassador F.Bagirov about signing of agreement on launching of the information and cultural centers in both countries.
March 21 - Due to the initiative of Embassy, the letter of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev to the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Amr Mousa reached him during his stay in Algeria and read by him to the Heads of States participated in opening ceremony on March 22.
April 4 - The congratulation letter of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev to the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Amr Mousa was published in Egyptian newspaper “October”.
March 21 - The Embassy held “Novruz Bayram” in “Sheraton” hotel with the participation of the Egyptian representatives of culture, foreign diplomats and politicians.
March 26 - 30 - The Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture Adalat Veliyev made an official visit to Egypt. He has met with the Egyptian Minister of Culture, Faruq Husni as well as his counterpart Sherif Shubashi. The Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of culture between two countries was signed and the Azerbaijani days was reached to be held in Egypt. During the visit, Adalat Veliyev was interviewed by the Egyptian “Misir Al-Yaum” and “October” magazines.
March 31 - The Day of Azerbaijani Genocide was commemorated in Embassy. The representatives of the Egyptian mass media were deeply informed about it. The press-releases prepared by the Embassy were also sent to all the Embassies and Representatives accredited in ARE.
April 12 - The interview of Ambassador Faiq Bagirov about Azerbaijan was published in Egyptian magazine “Ad-Diplomasi Ad-Dauli”.
April 13 - 14 - The meetings were held with the Egyptian Minister of Education, Amr Izzat Salama and his Deputy Jamal Hasan in order to discuss the relations in educational field between two countries. The visit of the Azerbaijani Minister of Education, Misir Mardanov to Egypt was also discussed.
April 18 - 23 - The Azerbaijani Minister of Education, Misir Mardanov made an official visit to Egypt. During the visit, a number of meetings were held and five agreement packets were signed.
The Egyptian “Misir Al-Yaum” magazine and “Al-Ahbar” newspaper published the information about the official visit of Azerbaijani Minister and the information about the agreements on cooperation which were signed between Baku and Cairo as well as Azerbaijan and Alexandria Universities.
May 8 - The day of occupation of Shusha was commemorated in Embassy with the participation of the Egyptian mass media representatives.
May 10 - Birthday of the National Leader of Azeri nation, Heydar Aliyev was commemorated in Embassy. DVD film concerning his activity was demonstrated in attendance of the representatives of Azerbaijani society, the Azerbaijani students studying in Egypt.
May 10 - The regulations of the project of Memorandum of Understanding between the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and the League of Arab States was discussed during meeting with the Head of the European Department of the League of Arab States, Farida Hasuna.
May 11 - The opening of branch of the Oil Academy of Azerbaijan in south Sinai was discussed during the meeting with the Egyptian Deputy Minister of Education, Ahmad Bahauddin.
May 28 - The representative of the Egyptian President, Tariq Abdulaziz delivered his congratulations while visited the Embassy.
May 29 - The Embassy held an official reception on the occasion of “The Day of the Republic” and the historical launching of “Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan” oil pipeline. The famous Egyptian politicians, representatives of culture, foreign diplomats participated.
May 28 - 29 - 40 minutes documentary about Azerbaijan was broadcasted by Egyptian "Nile News" and "II" channel.
June 05 - 08 - Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Khalaf Khalafov made an official visit to Egypt. The political issues were discussed during his meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister for European affairs, Ashraf Rashid.
June 13 - The meeting with the Egyptian Painters Union's Chairman, Mustafa Hussein was held. During the meeting, both sides agreed for further cooperation in this sphere.
June 27 - The Law-Agreement base of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Arab Republic of Egypt was discussed and considered with the participation of the representatives of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
October 15-17 - Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Elmar Mammadyarov made an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. During the visit, he has held the meeting with his counterpart Ahmad Abu Al-Gheit. They hold discussions on cooperation between two countries, the situation in the region as well as in the Middle East, international safety and the perspectives of further relations between both countries.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister also met with the Chairman of the National Assembly Ahmad Surur. During the meeting Minister emphasized on existing relations between two countries and expressed his hope for the intensive development of these relations and cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has also met with Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ahmad Nazif. The Egyptian Prime Minister expressed his positive position on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the framework of the International Law. Within the official visit, Azerbaijani Minister met with the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation and the Chairman of the Joint Commission Faiza Abualnaga and the Secretary General of the League of Arab States Amr Musa. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the League of Arab States and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
November 10-13 - Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbuloglu made an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt in the framework of the Azerbaijani Cultural Days. During the meeting with his counterpart the discussions on importance of holding the Cultural Days of Egypt in Azerbaijan on April, 2006 have been held. The agreement on Cooperation in cultural field between Azerbaijan and Egypt was signed by the Governments of both countries. The official opening of the Azerbaijani Cultural Days took place at the Cairo Opera House. During the visit, Azerbaijani Minister has also met with Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Mohammad Tantavi.
December 25-26 - Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Babayev made an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt in order to head the Second Meeting of the Azerbaijani-Egyptian Joint Commission on the Scientific and Technical Cooperation. The Azerbaijani Minister met with the Egyptian Minister of the International Cooperation and the Chairman from the Egyptian side of the Azerbaijani Egyptian Joint Commission, Faiza Abualnaga.
The discussions on cooperation in the family welfare, fighting with any kind of the infections fields have been held. Both Ministers attended the Association of the Egyptian Businessmen. During the meeting, Chairman of the Association, Minister Faiza Abualnaga as well as the Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan made a speech. In the framework of the official visit, Azerbaijani Minister has also met with the Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmad Nazif as well as the Minister of Trade and Industry Rashid Mohammad Rashid, Minister of Investments Mahmud Mohieddin.
The document on cooperation between the Ministries of Health, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of the Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the Health and Pharmacy field between two countries and the Protocol of the Second Azerbaijani Egyptian Scientific and Technical Joint Commission as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the sphere of tourism were signed.
