February - The delegation of Egypt led by the Deputy Foreign Minister made an official visit to Azerbaijan. The delegation was received by the President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

September - The delegation of Azerbaijan led by the Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Murtuz Alasgarov was on trip in Egypt in order to take part in the Conference of International Interparliaments Union.
